I have a particular passion for documenting British traditions, and communities. And so the opportunity to photograph the Crafthole summer Flower and Vegetable Show in August 2024, which has been staged annually since 1941, was too good to miss. The story is told in two ways; it was also featured by the BBC.
A hastily created photography ‘studio’ at the entrance of the village hall, comprising a grey bedsheet taped to the wall (!), allowed me to create a selection of portraits, shown below, as villagers brought their exhibition entries to the venue.
